Way more off-road than most Jeeps.

There’s a wagon of this description available for me to test drive where I am right now. Would OPPO be interested in a video review of it? I’ll try to arrange something this weekend if enough of y’all are interested.

I think you can fit a lot more tire and a lot more gear in one of these.

True. But I want to get something a little newer. Im not going to lie, Im a bit of a poser, I dont go overlanding and stuff.  I am going camping this weekend, though, but I think my 850 will do just fine for that.

I hear you. One upside of the xc70 is that it’s long enough to sleep in. I don’t know if the same can be said for the v60, at least for me at 6'4.

One thing I’m not real keen on is sleeping in a tent. I am trying to find the room to build a teardrop with my girlfriend. Problem is she lives in DC and my garage isn’t big enough to fit it while building.

I’m only 5'9, so I might have a better chance of fitting in the 60. I don’t do a ton of camping, but go maybe once or twice a year. One of the appeals of a truck was a bed tent. But I know I wouldn’t use it enough to make it a deciding factor.

Regarding the teardrop, have we talked about Chesapeake Light Craft before? I can't remember.

Im not sure, but I have looked at those plans. That would be amazing, but the build time is crazy long. It’s more time and money than I want to spend. I am going to build a more traditional trailer but instead of wood I am going to use composites for the shell. Specifically this stuff called Coosa which is impervious to water, is fairly strong, cuts like plywood and weighs half as much. I used it for my boat deck.

The other plan is to buy a house/property in WV for the weekends. We have been looking around and have found some cool options not too far from Alexandria. Basically keep my condo for during the week and for work and head out on the weekends. I’m in discussions with my boss to cut back to four days a week (still 40 hours) so I can be gone for three days a week.

That sounds like an awesome plan! I’ve kicked around similar ideas with the friends I’m going camping with this weekend, who knows, maybe it will come up again.

T he CLC teardrop looks pretty awesome but also seems rather labor intensive. I think you have a good plan for yours. I need to check out this Coosa product, sounds interesting.
